Tammy Day
Executive, Career and Team Coach
Chartered FCIPD, ICF Accredited Coach
As an Executive, Career and Team Coach, I work with C-Suite and Senior Leaders on an International basis to support and challenge them.
Following a 21 year Management Consulting career and having been a Managing Director myself, I've sat in the seat and know what is important. I am based in UK, and work either virtually or in-person. Currently I am working with CEO and Board level clients in Australia, China, The Netherlands, USA and the UK.
Reasons that you may decide that it's time to work with a coach:
Over the last 20 years I've worked with thousands of leaders and teams as a coach, trusted advisor, consultant and mentor. I work with my coaching clients to provide a confidential space to explore what's most important to you, to be specific about your goals, and to put in place practical strategies to take you forwards and get results.
My passion is to help individuals, teams and organisations to perform at their best. Having sat in the seat as a senior business leader and Managing Director myself, I understand the challenges faced by leaders and I will work with you to find strategies that enable you to be your best.
I understand business. From over 20 years as a Management Consultant, I’m quick to grasp your agenda and challenges as a leader, and know what works and what doesn’t. I know how things ‘get done’ in organisations. This helps me to focus on the 'right' questions to maximise our coaching time together.
I’ve sat in the seat. Having been a Managing Director I understand the pressures, challenges and dilemmas that senior leaders face, that are sometimes invisible to other people. The accountability, the pressure, and the politics. One of my strengths is empathy, and I will use it to support you.
I’m a practical creative. No, it’s not an oxymoron! I’ll help you to think creatively about all of your alternatives, and to apply a common-sense and decisive approach to making them happen.
I won’t always tell you what you want to hear, as that won’t get you where you want to be. If you are avoiding an issue, I will call it out...with good intent, and humour where appropriate.
As a Coach, I want to help you to be the best you can be. Whether that’s listening, challenging, supporting or helping you to problem solve. As your Coach, I'll be in your corner.
At it’s simplest, coaching will give you protected, facilitated time to think. Often the rarest commodity for busy professionals. The International Coaching Federation, the world’s main accrediting and credentialing body for professional coaches, defines coaching as: “Partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.” A good coach will give you space to think and walk alongside you.
Chemistry
Our coaching process starts with an informal 'chemistry' conversation. We get to know each other and see if we might have a coaching match.
During the conversation we'll explore what you are looking for, and what success looks like for you. It's also your opportunity to ask me anything you'd like to know, in order to make your decision.
A chemistry conversation usually takes around 45 minutes, over MS Teams, Zoom or the phone, and it is free of charge.
Coaching Activation
If you decide to go ahead, then the next step is to send you our unique coaching activation pack.
Refined over many years, the stimulus and questions help you to clarify exactly what you are looking for from your coaching programme. It also helps me to design a bespoke approach that will enable you to reach your goals. This takes the form of an overall coaching programme flow, but the sessions also remain flexible to work with topical challenges that are 'live' for you.
Finally, our coaching activation process can also include any three-way conversations to set-up for success, such as with a line manager or HR sponsor.
Coaching Sessions
Our minimum coaching programme duration is 3 x 90-minute sessions. This enables us to make progress against your goals, with a beginning, middle and end to a programme. However, our preferred commitment for Executive Coaching is 6 x monthly sessions, to also enable adequate time for reflection and embedding new habits sustainably.
As part of our coaching activation process, we also work with you to diarise, up-front, all of the session dates for your programme. In our experience this makes a significant difference to progress, commitment and momentum, and ensures coaching remains present to support you during busy work periods.
Psychometrics
I'm a highly experienced psychometric practitioner. As part of the design of your programme I may recommend certain tools to support deeper insight and self-awareness, and perhaps get into some of those blind-spots we all have!
These tools range from personality profiles, through to emotional intelligence, leadership climate, strengths, 360 degree feedback and externally benchmarked leadership assessments.
Alternatively, some clients choose to focus all of their sessions around particular data-driven insights, for example 3 x coaching sessions exploring emotional intelligence or career motivation.
In recent years the number of coaches has increased exponentially. Choosing a professionally trained and accredited coach is your guarantee of the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and skill. It helps you to navigate a crowded market place. ICF accreditation is considered as the International 'gold standard'.
I’ve undertaken over 200 classroom hours of coach-specific training aligned to the international coach standards of the ICF and hold their formal ACC coach accreditation. I have also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching. In addition to this I’ve completed observed and assessed sessions, exams, and continue to attend regular coaching supervision. This extensive training, coupled with my experience as a senior executive myself, offers my clients a safe pair of hands.
